David Ruiz Dave has over 25 years of experience in software marketing, product management and business development. He has been a co-founder of several successful startup companies and has a proven ability to drive the creation, development and delivery of innovative software products. Most recently Dave was a co-founder at Apptero that created the Apptero Composer software for visual application prototyping and requirements definition that was ultimately acquired by Serena Software in March of 2005. Dave was responsible for all aspects of product management and marketing at Apptero, including the product vision and strategy, identifying key market and user requirements, as well as planning and managing the product roadmap. Previous to that Dave was Vice President of Product Marketing at Avinon, as well as co-founder of the document workflow company ViewStar Corporation where he was responsible for all product marketing and product management activities. Between startups, Dave has been the principal and owner of a consulting practice that provides a wide range of strategic marketing services to leading technology companies. Services have included high-level strategy development and business planning, market opportunity assessment, company and product positioning, competitive analysis, and software product design. Dave holds a BS in Engineering from the University of California in Berkeley. Married with two children, he and his wife enjoy following all the major Bay Area sports teams.
