Mike DeVries Mike brings over twenty five years of enterprise software and services experience to Powershift. In 2001, Mike founded 3Hill Ventures, a strategic consulting and technology investment firm. There he provided strategic assistance to a dozen technology companies including Apptero (sold to Serena Software) Avolent, Clarus Systems, eCorridor, Induslogic and OnScreen Technology.
Mostly recently, he served as the CEO for Clarus Systems, a leading provider of automated testing solutions for VOIP phone systems. In addition, Mike has been active in fund raising, due diligence and negotiation for both public and private equity transactions. During this time he also served as CEO of Wakesoft, a web services technology provider to large enterprises. From 1997 though 2001, as Chief Marketing Officer for Versata (NASDAQ: VATA), he defined the strategy and drove the partnerships that were key ingredients in Versata’s 300%+ annual growth.
Mike held the Marketing V.P. positions at Persistence Software (NASDAQ: PRSW) and Synon Inc (acquired by CA). After receiving his BA in Economics from the U. C. Santa Barbara, Mike served General Electric Corporation for 10 years in various IT management, corporate staff and general management positions. At GE, Mike was on the initial team that defined and lead GE’s business process re-engineering and outsourcing initiative, reducing financial transaction processing cost by 38% across GE’s business units.
Married for 21 years with 3 children, Mike is an accomplished sail boat racer who also enjoys backpacking, fishing and most everything else under the sun.
